Toxicology

Toxicological analyses study the impact of chemicals on human health. This helps one to understand the degree of harm and safety a chemical may have on the health of humans when they come in contact. It can be seen that when the most innocuous substances in sufficient amounts come into human contact, they could lead to an undesirable response. In contrast, exposure to the most harmful chemicals in sufficiently small amounts will have no observable effects. This concept can also be extended to the adverse effect chemicals may have on the environment, when left out in the open, through different routes.

To study such adverse effects, RLS offers the following systems and services in its facility.

  1. 1. Ecotoxicological studies
       Earthworm
       Fish
       Birds
       Algae
       Daphnia
       Lemna
       Honeybee
  2. 2. Mammalian toxicological studies
        Acute Oral - Rat
Acute Dermal - Rat / Rabbit
        Acute Inhalation
        Primary Skin Irritation
        Acute Eye Irritation
        Skin Sensitization- Gunigea Pig
  3. 3. Genetic Toxicology Study
