As per various regulatory guidelines stipulated by CIBRC, EU, US-EPA etc., efficacy testing, chemical analyses, toxicological analyses and packaging testing for household insecticides are mandatory for the registration of the products. This division of RLS is equipped to undertake such projects.
RLS conducts laboratory as well as field trials for evaluating the efficacy of various products to control insect pests. Household pests such as mosquitoes, cockroaches, bed bugs, housefly and termites are subjected to experiments in its state-of-the-art laboratory.
RLS has interconnected room chambers with air exchange facility, peet grady chambers, sniffing chambers in its facility for studies on flying and crawling insects.
In the lab bred cultures, there are three species of mosquito, two deltamethrin resistant strains of mosquito, two species of cockroach, one species of house fly and one species of bedbugs.
Under the Public health activities, RLS conducts multi-location field trials to test the efficacy of products which are developed to control the menace of above pests on a large-scale application.
